The film is based on the script by Aleksandra Terpińska, award-winner of the script competition "Blind Chance," organised by Kino Polska, Polish Audiovisual Producers Chamber of Commerce, Munk Studio-SFP and Film Studio "Tor" to commemorate "The Year of Kieślowski."

 

ALEKSANDRA TERPIŃSKA

Makes films about things that matter to her. She graduated from Directing studies at the Faculty of Radio and Television of the University of Silesia in Katowice. She is also a graduate of Psychology at the University of Wroclaw. Director and screenwriter of short films, documentaries, commercials and music videos. In 2016 she graduated from Toronto Talent Lab at the International Film Festival in Toronto.

Her first short film "All souls’ day" premiered in San Sebastian, and was shown at over 100 festivals around the world. It has won 19 awards in Poland and in the world. Among others, the Grand Prix at Short Film Festival in Drama, Best Short Film at Cottbus Film Festival and PFI and Mastershot Award at Camerimage IFF.

In 2015, she completed her work on graduation film "America" (30 min), about two teenage girls who are trying to break out of their ordinary lives in the province. So far the film has been shown at numerous film festivals and received 20 awards including the Golden Horseman of the Youth Jury at Filmfest Dresden, Best Short Film at Sehsuchte International Student Film Festival in Potsdam, Golden Tadpole at Camerimage IFF, Early Bird Grand Award in Bulgaria and The Flaming Faun at Shnit International Shortfilm Festival, Jury Award Short Feature Film at the 13th Filmfest Eberswalde, Germany.

Her last short feature is the realization of the winning scenario in the competition for contemporary adaptations of the film "Blind Chance" by Krzysztof Kieslowski - "The Most Beautiful Fireworks Ever". The film begins its festival run this year. The premiere took place during a ceremony associated with the European Film Awards in Wroclaw.

Aleksandra is also the author of documents "First Time" and "Czech Swan". The latter is a Polish-Czech co-production that, in a funny and light way, tells a story about pensioners who decide to fulfill their dream and dance "Swan Lake". The film was sold to television in the Czech Republic, Japan, Australia and Croatia.

MICHAŁ DYMEK

Cinematographer; he has worked on feature and documentary films, he feels in his element both in fiction and documentary format. He is responsible for photography in the famous documentary by Monika Pawluczuk, End of the World. He shot the feature film My Friend Polish Girl by Ewa and Mateusz Dymek, produced in the UK and currently in the process of editing. In 2015, he won Papaya Young Directors competition with his film Prosto. Later that year, he was shortlisted in the New Director of the Year category at the shots Awards, as the first Polish director. He is also gaining work experience in productions abroad, e.g. on the set of Star Wars VII. Three times in a row he received prizes at Łodzią po Wiśle festival (2015-2017) for the best cinematographer at the Lodz Film School, for films: Apokalipsa, Taka Nasza Gra and Adaptacja. He is a co-author of many music videos, among them Dawid Podsiadło’s which won Fryderyk award for the best music video of 2015.
